Waterplay Solutions, a part of the MAKR Group, is looking for a Direct Sales Representative to help us create communities connected through play and social experiences in the Minnesota and Wisconsin areas! Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Direct Sales Representative is responsible for developing and executing a sales strategy for our splash pads, focused on building a strong sales pipeline in support of annual order intake and corporate revenue targets. Key aspects of this role include building mutually beneficial relationships with customers and key business partners; developing expertise in the products and services on offer; understanding the competition and positioning our offerings to win the business; driving a sales strategy that considers the needs of the customers and the profitability of the business; forecasting and closing sales in accordance with annual targets and expectations.

Primary Tasks/Functions and Non-Negotiables

  • Develop new opportunities and expand our customer base, primarily through direct contact with potential customers (60 – 70% of your time will be spent travelling)
  • Identify and create opportunities, find customers, and close deals 
  • Conduct regular meetings with prospective clients to strengthen relationships, develop business and further sales efforts
  • Implement sales and marketing strategies resulting in profitable revenue growth 
  • Manage leads and prospects to maximize opportunities for project and revenue growth 
  • Understand current market conditions and competitive landscape 
  • Forecast changes and update sales and marketing strategies accordingly
  • Monitor and report on competitor activity, products, pricing, strategy, etc.
  • Manage the sales effort to provide timely and accurate solutions including quotations, drawings, 3D renders, technical specifications, and marketing materials
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, pricing that result in profitable business 
  • Communicate product or service issues to the appropriate internal stakeholders

Experience and Education

  • 3-5 years direct sales experience in a consultative, relationship driven sales environment
  • Parks and recreation industry preferred
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite and CRM) 
  • Professional and structured sales training
  • Post-secondary diploma, degree or equivalent experience required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
